The National Adult Baseball Association (NABA), headquartered in Denver, Colorado, is one of the fastest growing recreational and competitive programs in the country. The NABA offers baseball to adults of all ages and abilities and has developed a program that is a proven outlet for a wholesome and satisfying opportunity to play America’s favorite pastime, Baseball!

The NABA is a nationally based program with local leagues in cities across the country playing baseball under a common set of rules; leagues that are both organized and fun, but affordable as well. NABA leagues strive to provide quality baseball in the best conditions and environment the local community has to offer.

Classified by age and experience level, NABA has over 25,000 player-members playing baseball in organized leagues in more than 43 states. Divided into 18 & Over, 28 & Over, 38 & Over, and 48 & Over age groups, the advanced, intermediate and recreational levels of play remove the intimidation factor, giving players with little or no experience and those whose skills are a bit rusty, the chance to play and have fun.

Open to all NABA members, NABA regional and national tournaments give you the chance to play against teams from across the nation. Following the design of local leagues, NABA tournaments are organized to be competitive and fun. NABA members match their skills against opponents as they vie for team and individual honors and awards. Whether representing a league as Champions, an All Star team, or joining a team at the tournament, NABA players get the chance to share the bond between all members: the love of Baseball.

Starting in 1993 with 24 teams, the Sacramento NABA has grown rapidly. This year (2006) there will be more than 60 teams.

The Sacramento NABA usually plays a 20-22 game schedule beginning after the middle of March and running through August with the regular season followed by play-offs and championships during September. We hold All Star games for each of the separate leagues (described above) about the ¾ mark of our season which is usually right after the 4^th of July holiday. The Sacramento NABA currently plays on Sundays only except major holidays i.e. Easter, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. There are, however, Tournaments held on some of those week-ends all around the country for those who would like to participate.

After you either become a part of a team or put a team together, you will need the proper equipment such as a glove, cleats and the like. But the most important requirement is a desire to play baseball and have fun!

The Sacramento NABA plays primarily on high school, college, and city parks fields all around the Sacramento area. For the last few years we have played from Galt on the South to Marysville-Yuba City on the North and from Davis on the West to Folsom on the East. Players in our leagues come from as far away as Grass Valley, Auburn, Marysville-Yuba City, Placerville, Stockton-Modesto, Vacaville-Fairfield, and even the Bay Area, not to mention everywhere in between. Game times are typically 10AM, 2PM, and 6PM. Those times, however, are subject to change.

Team fees will vary considerably because some teams have obtained sponsorships, others sponsor themselves; some are existing teams while others are new ; and some teams uniforms are more elaborate than others. So depending on a particular team’s circumstances, fees generally range between $250 to $350 per player for the entire season including uniform.
